Hey everyone, I figured I should probably put a brief introduction of myself up here. I hope this is the right place!

Well, as you can guess, my name is Raoul. I'm from Australia and live on a small mountain on the Sunshine Coast. (Most people will know the Sunshine Coast because of Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo.)

My life thus far has not been fantastically spectacular, but I do have a number of memorable experiences; joining this friendly forum is one of them!

But in the past I have studied quite a bit, from science to politics to Japanese to graphic design. At the moment, I'm also studying (what a surprise!) to become a teacher.

I only recently made up my mind to become an educator after having travelled around China. I taught English in Suzhou, which is about 40 minutes by train away from Shanghai. It was a really great experience and opened my eyes to what the world holds.

Part of the reason why I went to China is because my girlfriend is Chinese; so I met the family and that was really great. I got to experience Chinese New Year with her family and I have to say, it is a memory that will stay with me forever.

So that is the guts of me up until now! What about everyone else!

Thanks for sharing it with us Raoul Laughing It seems you have a very interesting and busy life with all those study and travel. I am sure your experiences in China will stay with you for life. It must have been an extraordinary journey, I wish some day I could go there too, and discover it myself. I can imagine you are very excited about it still and you have a lot to share. If you feel like telling more us about your experiences, please do so, I am sure we're very interested in it. It's always great to hear about it from first hand experience Very Happy

I'm from Hungary and work as a secretary at a medical university. My HK film enthusiasm started in 2005 when I saw the TV show "Martial Law" with Sammo Hung. I was amazed by him and started my research and the more I got to know, the more interested I became. Since then I created a website to express my admiration and respect, and I constantly try to work on it. Right now a friend and I are working on reviews.
With Sammo I got to know more about martial arts films, but his Mr Vampire brought another highlight in my life, in that film I discovered Ricky Hui, and through him the other side of HK cinema: HK comedy, namely the films of the Hui brothers. Also I got to love Cantopop, as Ricky is not only the brother of Canto King Sam Hui, but he is a great singer on his own right as well. I was sad to learn he didn't have a website so I collected everything I could and built a site for him too Razz

With Sammo's films of course I discovered a lot of fantastic artists, stuntmen, and Lam Ching Ying is on the top of my list, along with the three brothers, Sammo Hung, Jacki Chan and Yuen Biao.

That's about myself... Who's next? Laughing
