This is a wonderful idea, Dashiell. We had such a good, deep conversation about Blade Runner on the old forum and since I saw the last/final cut therefore I have even more to tell/ask. You are an expert, so I cannot wait to pick up the thread.

The more I see this movie the more secrets it reveals.

I don't know exactly where we were when we got cut off. Do you remember?

Oh, my God! The image of Deckard jumping on cartops in that chasing scene... such a shock it was to me to understand that this moment NEVER EVER actually appeared in the movie, not in any of those versions.

So annoying! I love this scene! So dynamic!

Do you have by any chance a bigger version of this pic?

Maybe I'm setting myself up for abuse and slander, but Blade Runner didn't do so much for me. There were certain aspects of the film I like (and even love) like the plot, the cinematography and the score (!!!)

But I think perhaps I'm half a generation too late to really get into sci-fi movies, especially those from the late 70s and 80s. I guess I'm too spoilt with all the eye-candy today!

You named three things you loved about that movie! That is not bad for a start! Laughing

Well, maybe you are right, Dashiell and I are just so old! Laughing Well, old enough to love that movie! Laughing

But this IS true in a way. That movie means my younghood years. It was amongst the first "western" movies which were allowed to see in our country and really touched me with its new way of "talking" to the audience. It is hard to explain. For many many years we were told how to feel and think. This movie let, me at least, to think openly and let my mind and imagination fly...

Thank you for your honest comment! Wink

Yeah, I guess we all have some special movies we just love. Part of the reason I love stuff like say 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' was because I grew up with the original series. That is despite the incredibly silly concept -- I should be smacked!

I saw "Blade Runner" when it was first released at its Welsh premier screening in Cardiff. The film's visuals blew me away then and it still remains in my top ten favourite films of all time. Needless to say I bought the magnificent Tinned Box Set that came out last December and I am still going through all the fantastic extras. My favourite exra so far is a selection of out takes and deleted scenes that can be played back to back to give you a forty minute alternative take on the film. The tinned box contains all the previously released edits of the film, plus the new version.
